The Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP+) is a vital initiative designed to provide immediate financial assistance and support to individuals impacted by specific crimes in Ontario. At its core, VQRP+ aims to offer timely aid to those facing urgent needs that cannot be met through other channels.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for assistance through VQRP+, individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Reside in Ontario.
• Lack other financial resources to meet their immediate needs.
• Have not previously received funding for the current situation.
• Intend to utilize the funds within Ontario.
• Have not been charged with the offense related to the incident.

VQRP+ Eligible Crimes:

VQRP+ extends its support to victims affected by a range of offenses. The complete list is below:

• Homicide
• Attempted Murder
• Child / Elder Abuse
• Assault
• Intimate-Partner Violence
• Sexual Assault
• Non-Consensual Distribution of Intimate Images / Voyeurism
• Hate Crimes
• Criminal Harassment
• Historical Childhood Sexual Abuse

Supports Available:

The program offers various forms of assistance tailored to the unique needs of each individual, including:

• Short-Term Immediate Counselling
• Funding for Immediate Emergency Expenses
• Funding for Funeral Expenses for Victims of Homicide
