About Chatham-Kent Victim Services

In times of crisis, the losses can be profound—finances, property, personal safety, and, tragically, even lives. Yet, the most devastating losses are often the emotional pain and distress that accompany these unimaginable life situations. Victims are frequently overwhelmed with grief, shock, sadness, fear, and confusion when facing these challenges.

At Chatham-Kent Victim Services, we understand the immense toll that crime, tragedy, disaster, and traumatic situations can take on individuals and families. That’s why we offer a range of crisis intervention services to support those affected. Our emergency crisis support services, accessible through Police, Emergency Services, and Community Service Partners, are available 24/7, 365 days a year.

With a team of dedicated volunteer Crisis Responders, we provide immediate assistance to help victims cope with the impact of crime, tragedy, and trauma. Our professional, in-house Crisis Support staff facilitate and coordinate wrap-around care, guiding survivors to access local resources and appropriate support services in the community. Additionally, we conduct educational programs and training opportunities to raise awareness and empower the broader public.

Having a helping hand and a listening ear in the immediate aftermath of a crisis can make a world of difference. We strive to expedite the recovery and healing process by connecting clients with dedicated community support. As awareness of our services grows, so does the number of people we assist each year.

Immediate services we offer include:

  • Emotional Support: Assisting individuals in coping with the impact of the tragedy.
  • Education on Local Resources: Guiding survivors to access appropriate support services in our community.

Other Services We Offer:
